Foundation Crack Repair in Oklahoma

Carbon Fiber Stitching and Crack Injection

A crack is a sign, not the problem itself. Pier King repairs foundation, slab and wall cracks across Oklahoma with carbon fiber stitching and crack injection, after we find out why the crack happened.

That way the repair holds, instead of the crack opening up again next to the patch.

Is the Crack Still Moving?

That’s the first question. In Oklahoma, many foundation cracks open in late summer and close after spring rain, because the clay under the house is moving. A crack that’s still moving will break open again next to any patch. So we find and stop the movement first, with steel piers, foam or drainage, and then repair the crack.

How We Repair Cracks

  • Carbon fiber and Kevlar stitching. We cut slots across the crack every 8 to 12 inches and set carbon fiber stitches in structural epoxy. The stitches tie the two sides together so the crack can’t open wider. We use it on slabs, poured walls, block walls and stem walls.
  • Structural epoxy injection re-bonds a crack that has stopped moving and gives the concrete its strength back.
  • Polyurethane injection seals a crack that leaks water. It flexes, so it keeps sealing if the crack moves a little.
  • Carbon fiber straps for cracked and bowed basement walls. Basement wall repair

Which Cracks Matter

  • Usually cosmetic: thin, even cracks in a slab or wall that don’t grow and aren’t offset.
  • Worth an inspection: cracks wider than about 1/8 inch, cracks where one side sits higher than the other, stair-step cracks in brick or block, horizontal cracks in a basement wall, and any crack that keeps growing or changes with the seasons.

Foundation Crack Repair in Oklahoma: Common Questions

Are foundation cracks always serious?

No. Thin shrinkage cracks are common in concrete. Cracks that keep growing, are wider at one end, let water in, or come with sticking doors and sloping floors usually mean the foundation is moving and should be checked.

How does Pier King repair foundation cracks?

We stitch cracks with carbon fiber or Kevlar and seal them with epoxy or polyurethane crack injection. If the foundation is still moving, we stop the movement first, often with steel piers, so the crack doesn’t come back.

How much does foundation crack repair cost?

It depends on the type of damage, the repair method and how much of the house is affected, so the only accurate number comes from a free inspection. Our team gives you a written estimate with no pressure. We offer 0% financing W.A.C., and Pier King is partnered with TTCU for flexible project loans.

Common Causes of Foundation Problems

number 1 label
Soil type

Oklahoma’s clay soils swell when they get wet and shrink when they dry out. That movement is what opens most foundation cracks, so it has to be controlled before a crack repair will last.

number 2 label
Settling

All homes settle over time naturally, but if different parts of your home have sunk or sloped further than others, it’s time to call Pier King

number 3 label
Sloping

If your home site was improperly graded or it sits at the bottom of a hill, foundation problems could develop as a result of gradual soil and debris accumulation, flash floods, or erosion

number 4 label
Poor Drainage

If your home never had gutters, or sits on a hard soil bed, water accumulating around your foundation will eventually cause it to swell, shrink, or crack

number 5 label
Plumbing Leaks

Even the smallest, slowest water leak from an underground pipe can cause extensive foundation problems

number 6 label
Poor Construction

While most Oklahoma contractors are careful to build to code, some still take shortcuts resulting in foundation damage
